The police department works in conjunction with the Wharton and Mine Hill School systems to create a safer, healthier community free of drugs, bullying and violence. LEAD Officers are specially trained in presenting to children in elementary and middle school. The curriculum is developed at the state level and presented by these officers in the classroom. This program is extremely beneficial in building a positive relationship between our police officers and the children within the community.
