The Wharton Police Department department uses a variety of vehicle types in order to provide the best possible service to the residents of the community. Using both standard and all wheel drive vehicles, our department is able to provide prompt emergency services no matter what the weather or terrain.

Our patrol vehicles are equipped with some of  the latest law enforcement technology which assists our officers in the detection of traffic violations, stolen motor vehicles, and missing / wanted persons. State of the art License Plate Readers, laptop computers, dashboard mounted cameras, and speed detection devices such as radar and laser assist officers in conducting their daily responsibilities. 

Our patrol fleet is also equipped with basic medical supplies, oxygen, automated electronic defibrillators, fire extinguishers, emergency traffic equipment, and vehicle lockout kits.
